Cell C | Out of the zone
After Cell C’s ad took at a shot at MTN Zone products, MTN retaliated with this radio ad and an appeal to the Advertising Standards Authority. Cell C’s commercial has since been banned, say MyBroadband.co.za.
Anti-MTN ads refused
South African advertisers have said “no” to the commercials of a US lobby group wanting to shame MTN for allegedly supporting the Iranian government.

RED BULL JESUS AD PULLED FROM TV IN SOUTH AFRICA AMID OUTCRY
“After facing backlash from both Christians and Muslims in South Africa, energy-drink maker Red Bull has voluntarily discontinued advertisements that give an alternative interpretation of Jesus’ walk on water, the Associated Press reports…”
“Unlike our broadcasters, we’re giving you the right to choose,” a banner at the bottom of the advertisement reads. The top of the advertisement describes the television version as “the pro-diversity ad broadcasters don’t want you to see”.
